Projects are in development

EHBLX Projects will contain complete original yacht and marine design work.

Where the Journal explores ideas and technical investigations, Projects bring those pieces together into integrated design outcomes.

The aim is to develop projects as if they were real design briefs rather than isolated render exercises.

From concept to vessel

The work behind these projects is already spread across sketches, early concepts, 3D models and technical studies. Some of it predates the complete project packages, but it belongs here as part of the development process.

Some ideas move further into Rhino, where the proportions, surfaces and spaces can be tested properly in three dimensions.

Material and detail studies sit in the same process as the larger vessel work, especially once an idea starts moving beyond the first concept.

Projects may document:

  • design brief and mission definition
  • benchmarking
  • principal dimensions
  • hull development
  • general arrangement
  • exterior design
  • weight and centre-of-gravity development
  • hydrostatics and stability
  • propulsion concepts
  • structural thinking
  • systems integration
  • computational analysis
  • visualization
  • technical drawings and documentation

Some projects will focus on a specific vessel type. Others may investigate a broader marine-design problem.

The first complete EHBLX projects are currently in development.
